Paul Nield
Board Member

Following a forty-year involvement in education across several different settings, including schools, not-for-profit organisations and outdoor recreation, Paul has recently retired and finds himself busier than ever. His passion for restorative practice has grown from his experience in the fields of health and wellbeing, developing a clearer understanding and practice of what processes provide effective future solutions to relational issues.

Paul is a strong advocate for RP in schools educating for social-emotional empowerment. Recently, he co-developed an ‘Outdoor Classroom’ program in support of students who struggled within the constraints of the typical classroom. He firmly believes young people emerging from a restorative setting will be more adept to negotiate the complex social environment inherent in families, workplaces, and society.

Paul is actively involved in the community and is a current member of the NSW Rural Fire Service. He remains actively involved in outdoor recreation and promotes the benefits of reconnecting with nature in a world preoccupied with technology. Grandchildren, paddling sports, and home projects happily occupy the rest of his time.
