Richard De Martin
Richard is vice president of Hunter Restorative Community Inc.
Richard studied a degree in drama and has worked in the community for the last 20 years in a range of settings.
As a youth worker he works restoratively with young people facilitating psycho-social group work and engaging them on a creative level to explore complex issues and to enable change personally and systematically. His current focus is on the development of Restorative Practice in Education & Organisations.
He has a passion for community development particularly around social justice and community dialogue and advocates strongly for the intersection of service provision and creative practice.
He has been associated with the Hunter Restorative Community for 4 years and currently convenes the monthly HRC network meetings.
He has also been experimenting through the restorative lens with the notion of “Community Places As Restorative Spaces” and believes that safety and dialogue are the keys to embedding Restorative Approaches in our communities.
